This item is very light duty - it struggled to cut hollow 3/8" thinwall steel tubing. The motor develops very little torque and therefore stalls easily. The supplied cutting wheel is not effective against metal. I suppose if you are into balsa modelling or similar this might have some utility. It is not suitable for high volume work since the motor is so weak. All in all, a very poor value, especially at $39.

I purchased this saw to cut arrows for my bow shooting. It slowed way down just cutting through an arrow and splintered the cut. I can't imagine very many jobs being lighter than an arrow.

It's very handy for me as a craftsman/artist to have a mini-chop saw like this for items too small for a full-size saw and too large or solid for a razor. This item originally arrived without the saw blade that was supposed to be included; everybody makes mistakes, so that didn't upset me, and I was impressed by how swiftly and politely the company responded. They were such a pleasure to deal with that I would now make a special effort to order materials from this company again.
